Problema hd portatile

Ogni tanto, montando una partizione e cercando di riempirla, il portatile mi si
bloccava, e era impossibile recuperarlo (non rispondeva a ssh, non cambiava
console virtuale ecc. ecc.). Se non montavo la suddetta partizione tutto ok. Ho
deciso così di ristrutturare le partizioni riinstallando fedora core 2. Tutto
ok, ma nello riempire il disco fisso idem come sopra. Dopo avere brutalmente
riavviato, in /var/log/messages ho trovato:

premetto che io di hardware capisco molto poco, ma mi sembra un problema
fisico.
e così a occhio mi sembrano tanti 4445 errori in 3560 ore di funzionamento...

il portatile è ancora in garanzia. _se_ è un problema hardware (ma penso
proprio, visto che il software l'ho reinstallato ex novo...), come faccio a
spiegarglielo o a farglielo vedere, visto che di Linux loro non sanno un
piffero?
