I finally installed Win98 SE on my 600MHz Duron test system.  So, I
installed the latest drivers from ATI, fired up Quake 3 and did some
benchmarking.

Test system:

AMD Duron 600MHz
ASUS A7V with VIA KT133 chipset
Apacer 128MB PC133 SDRAM
15.3GB IBM Deskstar 75GXP 7200RPM ATA/100 hard drive

ATI Rage Fury PRO (Rage 128 Pro with 16MB 64-bit SDR SGRAM)


Windows driver:

DirectX 7.0a
ATI's Win98 Display Driver version 4.12.6292

GL_VENDOR = ATI Technologies Inc.
GL_VERSION = 1.1.1336 Win9x Release
GL_RENDERER = RAGE 128 Pro C21 AGP 4x x86/MMX/3DNow!


Linux driver:

RedHat 6.2 with kernel 2.4.0-test11-pre5
DRI CVS trunk from 20001204 (XFree86 4.0.2 r128 DRI driver)

GL_VENDOR = VA Linux Systems, Inc.
GL_VERSION = 1.2 Mesa 3.4
GL_RENDERER = Mesa DRI Rage128 20001201 Pro AGP 4x x86/3DNow!


Quake 3 Arena (Retail) v1.17

All setting reset to defaults
Sound off (no sound card in system)
Graphics settings on 'Normal'

Win98 and X server run at 16bpp
X server run at 640x480 resolution

Win98, no page flipping (*):		53.8		52.3
Win98, page flipping:			56.0		54.2
Linux, no page flipping:		65.2		64.4


* Toggle page flipping using driver's OpenGL properties tab

I have spent a considerable amount of time verifying these results. 
It's a fresh installation of Win98 SE with nothing but ATI's drivers and
Q3 on it.
